> Sign in to your Rakumux account from the terminal, with a code you approve in any browser.

Rakumux works fully without an account. Signing in adds optional
[AI session titles](https://rakumux.com/docs/account/ai-titles.md), which name your sessions, and the [agent feed](https://rakumux.com/docs/account/feed.md). Accounts are by invitation for now: join the
waitlist at [rakumux.com](https://rakumux.com).

## Sign in from the terminal

Rakumux signs in with a short code that you approve in a browser, on this computer or any other, so
it works the same over SSH:

**1. Ask for a code**

In Rakumux mode press `a`, click **a Sign in** at the bottom right of the footer, or open
**Settings → Account**. From a shell, `rakumux account login` does the same.

**2. Open the link**

Rakumux shows a code, a link and its QR code. Open the link in any browser, or scan the QR code
with your phone. Over SSH, `c` in the sign-in dialog copies the link to your local clipboard (in
terminals that let programs set it).

**3. Approve**

Sign in at rakumux.com (or create your account), check that the code matches, and approve.
Rakumux picks up the sign-in by itself.

## Your account

Signed in, `a` (or **Settings → Account**) shows who you're signed in as and whether AI session
titles are on. **Settings → Available on sign-in** turns your account's features on or off: AI
session titles and the agent feed. They're the switches on rakumux.com/features, saved with your account,
so a change in either place shows in the other. Signed out, they're greyed out.

On the web, rakumux.com stays the public site; while you're signed in, its header shows **Open app**
in place of **Sign in**. Open app, and signing in, take you to your **Sessions**. In the web app's
header, the Rakumux logo goes back to Sessions, and at the top right **≡** shows or hides your feed
beside them; the other pages are under the **Settings** gear next to it:

| Page | What's there |
| - | - |
| [rakumux.com/status](https://rakumux.com/status) | **Sessions**: your [sessions](https://rakumux.com/docs/account/feed.md#your-sessions-on-the-web) on every machine, grouped by status as in Rakumux's Status tab; open one to read its chat and write back |
| [rakumux.com/feed](https://rakumux.com/feed) | Sessions with your [agent feed](https://rakumux.com/docs/account/feed.md) shown beside them: your agents' turns from every machine, newest first |
| [rakumux.com/folders](https://rakumux.com/folders), [rakumux.com/app](https://rakumux.com/app) | The same sessions grouped by machine and folder, or by app, as in the Folders and App tabs |
| [rakumux.com/install](https://rakumux.com/install) | How to install and start Rakumux (Settings) |
| [rakumux.com/account](https://rakumux.com/account) | Your email, connected accounts, security, and deleting your account (Settings) |
| [rakumux.com/features](https://rakumux.com/features) | Your account's feature switches: AI session titles and the agent feed (Settings; also in Rakumux's **Settings → Available on sign-in**) |

## From the command line

| Command | Does |
| - | - |
| `rakumux account login` | Print a link, a code and (on a terminal) a QR code, and wait for approval |
| `rakumux account status [--json]` | Who is signed in, whether AI session titles are on, and each live session's AI description |
| `rakumux account logout` | Sign out on this machine; AI session titles stop |

## What runs on your machine

Signing in starts a small background service for your account, `rakumux status-service`. Like the
server, it keeps running when you quit Rakumux, and Rakumux starts it again when needed.

* Your sign-in is stored in `~/.rakumux/sensagent/credentials/`, readable only by you, and renewed
  automatically before it expires.
* Its log is `~/.rakumux/logs/status-service.log`.
* Sign out with **Settings → Account** (`o`) or `rakumux account logout`.

Signing out of the website in a browser doesn't sign the terminal out; use one of the above.
